I love this idea. It's such a relevant way of thinking about supplemental material I'd like to include with the 'review' that I would write using Freed pointe shoemakers. I could document what dancers use what shoe. They could speak about their journey of finding the shoe. And what that moment was like when they found the perfect fit. The film could document how they their shoes are tools to demystify the "torturous" aspect of the shoes.
What are other tools and professions I could use to make an analogy?
Welders and blow torches (kinda dangerous)
Chefs and knives (pretty dangerous and I'm sure they've all cut themselves. They have scars too)
Carpenters and hammers (yeah, probably not pretty)
